11" X 17" Travel Poster Featuring a Super Cell in Tornado Alley By Donald Verger Photography, Feature
This poster features Donald Verger's original photograph of a "Super Cell" shot while driving in what as known as Tornado Alley. This limited-edition poster features a photograph of Super cell forming in Tornado Alley. A super cell is a thunderstorm that is characterized by the presence of a deep, continuously-rotating updraft. Of the four classifications of thunderstorms (supercell, squall line, multi-cell, and single-cell), supercells are the overall least common and have the potential to be the most severe. Supercells are often isolated from other thunderstorms, and can dominate the local climate up to 32 kilometres (20 mi) away. Donald Verger is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning photographer and Founder and President Emeritus of the world-renowned Children's Discovery Museum and Science Discovery Museum in New England. His stunning landscape photography, reminiscent of the legendary work of Ansel Adams, is notable for its quiet, ethereal beauty and subtle nuances of light. His two inaugural calendar series feature New England landscapes and the famous Nubble Lighthouse from Maine.
